About Justin

I was a former Supplemental Instruction Leader during undergrad and a teaching assistant during graduate school. I have always enjoyed helping students to better understand the material, no matter what the subject. My expertise is mostly in political science and government as well as mass communication, but I also have substantial experience in writing and editing. Students that I have worked with in the past have always commented on my patience and ability to explain complex topics in ways that are easy to digest and understand. I was also a graduate assistant adviser for the 2 years while I was in graduate school wherein I encountered and successfully advised a diverse array of students.

Please feel free to contact me to learn more about me and/or schedule lessons.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

I have a bachelor of science in political science from Kennesaw State University (where I received a 4.0 GPA) and a master of arts in mass communication with a concentration in political communication from the University of Florida, where I took several graduate-level political science courses. I was a supplemental instruction leader at KSU for POLS 1101 (Introduction to American Government) and POLS 3360 (U.S. Congress) in which I led study sessions outside of class twice a week. In graduate school, I was a teaching assistant for MMC 4200 (Law of Mass Communication) at the University of Florida, where I filled in to lecture on various politically related topics. These subjects required an extensive knowledge of American history.
