Hi! I'm an experienced tutor and business professional Financial Analyst / Accountant with over ten years of accounting/finance and business administration work in both a Fortune 100 company and a federal government cabinet level agency.

Since joining Wyzant almost two years ago, I have tutored over 400 hours and 65+ students, helping each to achieve their learning goals. I look forward to the opportunity to do the same with you!

--My Education--
Bachelor's degree Cum Laude in Business Administration, focusing on International Economics and Finance from the Catholic University of America,
Master's degree in Accountancy from the George Washington University.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from George Washington University.
Active Certified Public Accountant(CPA) license.

--About My Tutoring--
I am passionate about helping students learn business topics ranging from accounting to statistics, management to finance. I enjoy teaching these topics to students who don't normally take accounting, finance, or economics courses. Many of my students are in nursing, public policy or other degree programs.

I also have experience and enjoy tutoring the GMAT, ASVAB and GED exams and the Microsoft suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. For these subjects, you'll find my approach to be both thorough and supportive. I won't rush you through topics you don't understand, but won't waste time on things you already know.

I work with you one on one to understand your learning style, goals and timelines. I design a tutoring plan that fits your individual needs and ensure you are supported each step of the way. I am an encouraging and supportive individual and I look forward to helping you achieve your learning and life goals!

--My Policies--
I am extremely generous when it comes to my lessons. If we have an hour session, you will always receive the full 60 minutes, and as many students will attest, I usually run a few minutes over (if you have the time too, of course!)

I am prompt to my sessions and expect my students to do the same. At the same time I am flexible and I know things come up we can't avoid. I have an 8 hour cancellation policy. Missed sessions are charged at 50% of the agreed upon rate.

For in person tutoring, I only meet in public locations only (e.g. a library, Starbucks, university classrooms). This is for both ease of tutoring (quiet and whiteboards) and comfort for both tutor and student. Please also see my travel policies regarding rates. Due to time it takes to reach students in the D.C. Metro Area, my rate compensates for this. I am happy to switch between in-person and online depending on your needs.

If you have any questions, please ask! I look forward to working with you!
In Knowledge,
-Patrick

AFOQT

After having worked with multiple ASVAB students, the AFOQT is similar in structure and content. Specifically with the math section, I have a deep understanding of test strategies (having also tutored students in the CPA exam and the GMAT exam). The strong combination of test preparation work as well as understand the needs of military students, or those looking to join the military allows me to tutor this subject. I also have a strong educational background and have a significant amount of time tutoring, indicating that not only can I tutor the subject, but in general, I am an experienced tutor. OVERALL GREATNESS

I was able to grasp the concepts a lot better with more detailed examples and also great acronyms for accounting not used in the textbook. I highly recommend Patrick with great knowledge and experience!!!

Help with Accounting and Economics

I have worked with Patrick on economics and accounting. He is very patient, explained things in terms that I could understand and used real-world examples to help reinforce the topics. I would recommend Patrick to all my friends and anyone that would need help in economics or accounting.

Wow, what a tutor!

You cant find a more knowledgeable and caring tutor. Patrick puts in the extra work to have lessons planned prior to our tutor sessions and has a way of teaching the material that makes it easy to comprehend. I have tried several tutors both through Wyzant and from private sources and no one has come close to providing the service that Patrick does. I would highly recommend Patrick to anyone needing assistance with their learning needs.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor!

Patrick is very knowledgeable about finance/accounting. He was able to get me through the beginning of the semester. He gave good examples to help me understand certain concepts. His rate is very affordable. Spent my weekends diving into the text. He was so patient and resourceful. He's the best out there. Hire him and your grade will magic improve as mine did. Thanks to him. I understand these finance problems.

An expert!

Patrick taught me all the trigger words to look for in understanding exactly what the cpa questions wanted. Aside from his complete knowledge of all the formulas, these tips helped me completely navigate all the challenges this exam threw at me. He is a wonderful tutor and I will hire him again for the next exam prep.
