Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Engineering, Econ)
My name is Kaitlyn, and I am an engineer who graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a BA in Economics with a 3.5+ GPA. While in college, I tutored 1-3 students a semester, mostly in business calculus. All of my students received a grade of B or higher, which I am quite proud of. While in high school, I also tutored classmates in various math courses.
I have been an active volunteer in the community, working with children to teach them about science concepts. I have experience working with children ages 10 and up, so I can work with those who are younger or those who are older and need assistance with more advanced coursework. While it is important to help the students get good grades, I also like to help them understand and enjoy the courses, and to draw connections between different classes.
I do work full time, but would be available during evening hours and sometimes on the weekends on a case by case basis.
I'd love to help you or your child succeed academically, be it in a school course or in preparing for an exam like the GRE. Please contact me if you are interested in working together. Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored HS math for the past 7 years and all students got As and Bs.
I have tutored more than 5 HS math students and helped them achieve As and Bs on exams
I have tutored calculus since 2007.
I have a B.A. degree in Economics. To obtain this degree, I took many economics classes, including Economics of Organizations (A), Analysis of Economic Data (A), Econometric Methods (B), and Statistics for Engineers (A). I obtained an overall GPA for my Econ degree of 3.7 and in Engineering of 3.6.
I have a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, which I obtained with an in major GPA or 3.6 and an overall GPA of 3.5. I took Elementary Linear Algebra class, which I got an A in. I also tutored students at Virginia Tech at our math lab in linear algebra for 2 years.
I have a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering. While this isn't Mechanical Engineering, I took many similar classes, including Calculus 1 and 2, Linear Algebra, Vector Geometry, Multivariable Calculus, Physics 1 and 2, C++, CAD, Manufacturing Processes, Differential Equations, Intro to Materials Engineering, Theoretical Statistics, Statics, Dynamics, Operations Research, Statistics, and Electrical Theory. I graduated with an overall GPA of 3.5, and 3.6 in major (engineering).
I have tutored 5 physics students who have gotten As and Bs
I have a lot of experience in tutoring math and working with children. I have tutored high school and middle school maths including algebra, geometry, statistics and calculus. I have also been working with children since I was a teenager, lifeguarding, babysitting, and volunteering for youth STEM programs. I like to help the children understand the concepts versus memorizing so that they can build a solid math foundation and problem solving skills to use throughout their math courses.
I have tutored calc and earlier maths for 10 years with all students getting A's and B's.
I have taken many college level statistics classes while completing my Engineering degree including:
-Statistics for Engineers
-Statistical Quality Control
-Analysis of Economic Data
-many other Operations Research classes
