The University of Tennessee (English)
Greetings! Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Cynthia, and I am 25 years old. I am originally from Rogersville, Tennessee, and I now live in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. I have been married for a year and three months to my wonderful husband, DJ. My hobbies include writing, reading, being outside, spending time with my family and friends, proofreading, playing volleyball, and singing.
I am a 2010 graduate of Walters State Community College, where I received my Associate of Arts Degree in Spanish. Ole! Then, I went on to earn my Bachelor's Degree in English from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2012. I am currently pursuing my Master of Education Degree in Secondary Education.
I have been a substitute teacher for the Hawkins County Schools System, where I primarily taught middle schoolers. I substituted for two years until I moved to Virginia. I also was a tutor at The University of Tennessee at Thornton Athletics Student Life Center. I tutored some of the student-athletes in Spanish.
Helping students in English and Spanish is important to me. It is great to be able to speak two languages!
Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
