My name is Dr D and I am a scientist and professor of human anatomy and physiology. I did my university work in biomedical engineering and physics. My MS and PhD are in cardiovascular and hemodynamic physiology. As a professor, I have taught thousands of students the principles of human anatomy and physiology over the past ten years at the high school, undergraduate, graduate, and professional school levels. I have taught and tutored physics, statistics, differential calculus, algebra, organic chemistry, general chemistry, biostatistics, biochemistry, English literature and composition, animal biology, multivariable calculus. I also provide comprehensive test preparation for the following tests: GRE, MCAT, PCAT, DAT, USMLE Step 1, and USMLE Step 2 exams. I am very good at what I do and I can guarantee you that you will see great improvements after our first session.

My key strength that I believe benefits the students I teach and tutor is being able to critically scrutinize information and incorporate various opinions/perspectives into my own. Doing so allows me to develop a thorough understanding about a topic. I then provide that knowledge to my students through comprehensive explanations and reinforced practice.

I believe a student should always feel comfortable with the people that are providing them education. My students usually seek out my help because of how uncomfortable they are with their current instruction and/or the material being taught. I work very hard to ensure that my students are at ease with me, enough so that they can learn more effectively and develop the sense of confidence that they are striving for. As an educator who has learned a lot over the years, I try to remember that students have various styles and methods of learning. As such, I must always remain open to self-edification and dynamically adapting to best suit the needs of someone asking for my help.

Here is how I tutor:

Statistics

Statistics

Statistical and biostatistical analyses have been an extremely important part of my career as a scientist and professor. Along with the work I do as a researcher, I have been teaching and tutoring students in statistics for more than a decade. With my extensive expertise in the area, I have developed my own comprehensive curriculum with practice material to supplement and/or replace what you’re looking for. I am confident that you will get a lot out of our time together and look forward to helping you.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Following my first session in biostatistics, after not having taking a math course in over 10 years, I wasn’t feeling optimistic, but after my first session with Chad I gained a little more confidence. He was very patient and made the topics I was having difficulty on, more simplified and easier to grasp... I really enjoyed how i was able to keep asking questions when I didn’t quite understand and how he was able to relate it.

Knowledgeable and great teacher!

Just had my first session with Dr. D! He was not judgemental with my stupid questions, clearly knows what he's talking about, and explained the material in a very understandable way. Would recommend!

Wonderful - Very patient and knowledgeable

I'm in a graduate level biostatistics course and struggling with the fundamentals after being out of school for about a decade. Dr. D was very patient with me as he reviewed the concepts of the course and helped me revisit some fundamental math concepts. I have a much stronger understanding of the material now, and I really recommend Dr. D as a tutor!

Would recommend to a friend

I was nervous coming into my first tutoring session because I generally felt insecure about biostats. Dr. D. was patient and knowledgable and created a comfortable environment where it was ok for me to say "I don't know." I left the session feeling more confident and ready for my next class. He also came prepared and wrote notes on his shared screen which was incredibly helpful, especially if you're a visual learner like me. I already recommended him to a friend in my class and scheduled my next session.

organized, thoughtful, and fun tutor

Dr. D tutored my son in AP statistics. He was amazingly well prepared and I appreciated that he asked questions about my son's performance, lessons, and textbook before their first session. He created a meaningful and useful first tutoring session getting the most out of the first session as possible. After their first session, my son said it was helpful, he liked how Dr. D was organized and teaches. I asked him if he couldn't wait for the session to be over or if he enjoyed it. He said he enjoyed it and could have stayed on longer. No exaggeration. I'm excited that we've found an awesome statistics tutor that my son's enjoys meeting with and learning from.

Provides a copy of the tutor session, helpful distribution tables, and clearly explains key biostats concepts.

We went over the topics: (a) Multinomial Experiments and Contingency Tables: Categorical Variables -Goodness of fit tests for multinomial experiments -Chi-square tests of independence/homogeneity for contingency (two-way) tables -Fisher’s exact test for small expected frequencies -McNemar’s test for matched pairs -Odds ratios and relative risks (b)Correlation and Linear Regression: Continuous Dependent and Independent Variables -Pearson's linear correlation coefficient -Spearman's correlation -Slope and intercept -Least squares method -Sources of variation (explained and unexplained) -Hypothesis tests (t- and F-statistics) -Omnibus null hypothesis vs. partial null hypothesis -Multiple coefficients of determination (R^2)

Great Tutor and he is receptive to each individual's needs

Dr. D covered the subject material. He is very knowledgeable and does a great job of explaining the basic fundamentals especially for Biostats. He then helps you use those fundamentals to solve much more complex equations and word problems. Would highly recommend him as a tutor.
