I currently teach special education in a intellectual disabilities classroom, grades k-5. I have experience in volunteering and student teaching with all levels and types of disabilities. I have a wide range of academics. Working with children on letters, letter sound and counting all the way up to topic sentence writing. I also have general education teaching experience in working with grades K, 1st 5th 4th and 7th. Fairfax county has given me the opportunity to sit in on many trainings that have shown me how to accommodate and differentiate things to a child based on their learning needs.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
