Basketball Coaching ExperienceMarverly
I was the Head Coach for the 2009 and 2010 Junior and Senior teams for the Alabama Twisters Elite Program. During that time I coached at several major exposure tournaments. I recruited players (made phone calls, visited their games, introduced myself to the coach and parents) to my team from various cities in Alabama. I have had a few players go on to play basketball in college and sign scholarships: Amanda Toliver of B’ham, AL (South Alabama), Kaseama Ashbourne of Montgomery, AL (University of North Alabama), Kyra Holiday of Hoover, AL (Huntingdon College), Ashley Beverly of B’ham, AL (Troy University signee), Madeliene Philpott of Mobile, AL (Air Force Academy signee), Jessica Wilson of Hattiesburg, MS (Jackson State signee). I also had a few highly recruited players who played-up an age for some of the major tournaments during each AAU season: Kayla Anderson of Hoover, AL (UAB signee), Nicole Tanner of Hoover, AL (Auburn signee), Tabitha Bradshaw of Montgomery, AL (Mercer), and Bria Cochran of Hoover, AL (highly recruited Jr.). These major tournaments include Boo Williams, FILA Nationals in Atlanta, Battle of the Bayou, and AAU Nationals and Showcase in Orlando, FL. During the 2010 season I was asked to coach a Hattiesburg, MS team to Battle of the Bayou where we finished 2nd in pool-play.
I have been asked to teach individual skills at several of the Jefferson County area high schools. These schools include Mortimer Jordan High where I helped coach the second half of the season with head coach Marty Caldwell, 2007-2008 season. I taught individual skills to Hoover High’s Jr. Varsity (2010-2011 season) and Bessemer City High (2010-2011 season). Throughout the year I conduct basketball individual sessions for boys and girls. Several of my clients are looking to broaden their ability to be more effective for their school and AAU coaches.
I helped in Jackie Stiles Elite Camp here in Birmingham, AL, in 2012. During my time in Cork, Ireland, I conducted basketball camp for the Glanmire community boys once a week.
I attended AAU’s Leadership Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2010. I was brought in as a Young Leader of Tomorrow attendee. I was allowed to attend both Men and Women’s committee meetings were they discussed “player” rule changes for AAU. During that trip I was asked to be the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations for retired Harlem Globetrotter, Paul Gaffney’s Sports World for the 2011 season. I was the tournament coordinator for “Girls World” AAU tournament in Chattanooga, Tennessee under Paul Gaffney.
I sponsor and assist in coaching for Alabama Twisters Elite “Team Marvelous” for the 2011 and 2012 summer seasons. In 2011, I organized a community service event, conducting a basketball camp for Birmingham’s YWCA. In 2011, I founded Nothing But NETtles, Inc., which helps to develop young female athletes academically, athletically, and socially.
Recently, (2012-2014) I coached a boys team in Mt. Brook, Alabama where we moved rapidly up in the ranks of the community. I also gave these boys individual help when we weren't practicing. Basketball Coaching ExperienceMarverly

I received a full scholarship to play at Chicago State University where I was awarded the Conference Newcomer of the Year and other accolades. I transferred to the University of Alabama where I was also given an athletic scholarship and received several awards including the Hustle Award. After graduating I played overseas out of Cork, Ireland where we won the Superleague Cup. I have coached many players since, boys and girls teams.
