University of North Florida (Chemistry)
Georgetown University (Master's)
My name is Mashal. Just a little background information- I graduated with a Master of Science in Chemistry from Georgetown University in 2012. I taught General Chemistry I and II as a TA for three years at Georgetown University and have additionally tutored for 10+ years in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, SAT, Physics, and college applications. Through my extensive years of tutoring, I have found that building the confidence of the student is key for them doing well. I like to ensure that my students are comfortable and find the material interesting-for these two reasons allow the best method of understanding key concepts. I am very thorough in my explanation and want my students to understand the concepts and then learn how to apply them by doing several practice problems until they know the material well.
I have taught ALL levels of students, and am respectful of my students' needs. I graduated with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree before going to graduate school. I was also awarded the American Institue of Chemists Award at University of North Florida for outstanding chemistry student of the year (2004).
I have excellent relationships with my students and they are very pleased to work with me as I am patient, friendly, have extensive knowledge of content and simplify the concepts so they no longer fear the subject. I have students who have literally gone from an F to an A. All it takes is time and commitment on their part with supplemental help from me.

Mashal received rave reviews from my AP Chem student after their first session. She came prepared with sample problems, was very knowledgeable about the material and was an effective teacher. Definitely worth a five star review. We are so greatful to have connected with her via Wyzant!
Helped me figure out how to approach writing my first AP Chem lab procedure. She is very willing to help and she asks thought provoking questions that help me digure out what the lab is really asking for.
Mashal is very nice and patient and strives to see her students learn. I found she was able to answer my questions with exceptional clarity, and if there was an advanced topic, she would go out of her way to answer the questions on her own time and contact you in a timely fashion. Overall great tutor!!
Thanks for your kind words. It was my pleasure working with you and I am so happy and proud that you did so well in General Chemistry. Achieving two 100% on the exams and a 98% on the final exam is exceptional. Awesome job!!
I've been working every week with Mashal and my AP chem grade is now an A! She is patient and very helpful and I look forward to seeing her every week and soon helping me get ready for the AP exam. She is punctual, easy to work with and very helpful.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master of Science from Georgetown University. I was a TA at GU for Gen Chem for 3 Years. I have tutored all across the board for past 10+ years with a very high success rate. I am patient and take my time so student understands the concepts and builds confidence. I also graduated undergrad Summa Cum Laude, with highest honors. My passion is teaching chemistry!
I have a Master of Science in Chemistry which entailed me to take Orgo I and II as an undergraduate, as well as advanced organic classes during graduate school. I have tutored in Orgo since 10+ years, and am currently tutoring Organic Chemistry. I graduated Summa Cum Laude for my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at UNF, which required me to do well in Orgo. I received an A in my regular Orgo class, as well as an A in Advanced Organic Synthesis at UNF. I love teaching Organic Chemistry because I simplify what seems like esoteric concepts and thus help my students gain confidence.
