In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

My advanced degree in classics and ancient languages, my study at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, where I visited over 200 archaeological sites, qualify me for this subject.
My work with students in Latin, English, and humanities has caused me to encounter special needs students in Aspergers, who require understanding and specialized instruction. Two of my recent students were at the top of their class.
I have 8 years of experience teaching autistic and asperger's students. My daughter is high functioning autistic, and so I have unique experiences in teaching and interacting with this special needs population.
I hold an MA in classical Greek.
As a teacher of English and Latin, which has no silent letters, the use of phonics (pronouncing words by syllables and combinations of syllables -disyllables, blends, etc.) is critical. Because of this, I am well versed in this skill. In addition, I have taken coursework in morphology/phonology of language (basic linguistics) as well.
I hold 9 credits in religious studies, and completed my master's thesis in a aspect of Judaism.
