I am a native from Afghanistan with over 9+ years of experience teaching Dari and Farsi language to English speakers. I am comfortable teaching adults as well as children. I have extensive language teaching experience with various language schools in Arlington, VA. I have taught Dari lessons for the US Armed Forces personnel heading over to Afghanistan. During these sessions I used a DLI curriculum as well as non-traditional teaching methods. For example: Dari language websites, main stream media, and Dari blogs. I had tailored the classes so that greater emphasize was on reading, listening, and comprehension. For example, a colonel in US Army received Dari language lessons from me in which she later passed the Dari language DLPT level 2+ test.
As a native speaker, I am able to utilize the correct syntax and expressions in the above languages to capture the true meaning of the material. In particular, I am an expert at analyzing, prioritizing, summarizing, and translating multi-media materials published in both Afghanistan and Iran. Also, I am a qualified Dari linguist as well as cultural advisor which can further enhance my abilities to teach Dari language to those willing to travel to Afghanistan for contract work or take part in high profile government or non-government occasions. I am willing to teach two students at a time and offer a special rate if two students join. I can only encourage this as in the past has motivated students to learn and motivate each other.
I have been teaching my native Dari language with multiple language schools in the DC Metro area for the past nine years. My experience both as Dari instructor as well as a contractor in both government and private sector settings providing translation, interpreting and as open source researcher can further create an interactive teaching experience. I will engage my students with traditional and non-traditional (Afghan websites and Afghan blogs) ways of learning the Dari language.
