Hello! My name is Regan C. and I love Korean! I'm 21 for the next little while but as a younger kid I moved around a LOT. I ended up spending 4 years in Seoul, South Korea during my middle school years. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I served a volunteer two year, full-time proselyting mission in Kyeong san Do, South Korea from 2012 to 2014. As part of that mission we're required to learn Korean, be immersed in the economy and culture, and interact daily with the Korean people. I absolutely love the Korean language and Korean culture. They're absolutely beautiful. I cherished my time in Korea and threw myself into learning the language. You might also be interested to know I lived in Italy for three years and learned Italian for all three years, and lived in Germany for a bit and learned German for a year. I know what it's like to struggle with and learn a new language.
Professionally, I've been teaching Korean now for just over 9 months. I teach a Korean immersion course to missionaries preparing to go to Korea. I teach grammar at basic and advanced levels, word and phrase memorization, conversational and professional speaking, and advanced Korean reading skills. I have extensive experience in Korea and the US as a translator for Korean to English and English to Korean and taught English to University students of varying aptitude while in Korea. I am currently seeking an undergraduate minor in Korean. I have taken Korean and North Korean language classes at an undergraduate level. I just completed a 300 level course in Korean with an A- and a North Korean class at the 400 level with an A. I have also tested out of my school's 100 and 200 level general Korean language courses. My school, Brigham Young University is renowned for its excellent language programs and the Korean program is no different. My professor is Korean and speaks to us exclusively in Korean. The Teaching Assistants that we interacted with every other day were Korean.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
