About Sixto

I'm an electrical engineer who is passionate about helping others with their schoolwork or any other help with engineering designs. I obtained my bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University, both in electrical engineering. During my school years, my main focus areas were control systems, electrical power, and power electronics. Two of the main skills I developed through coursework were circuit analysis and strong mathematical understanding since most of my classes involved extensively use of both.

My main experience helping others was as a teaching assistant for undergraduate electromagnetics course, a position I held for two semesters during my graduate studies. My role was to assist students with their labs tasks, as well as grade their lab reports. Most of the lab assignments required some equipment utilization, for which I was responsible to explain how it worked.

The areas for which I feel I could really help are circuit analysis, electronics, control systems, electrical energy, algebra, calculus, and differential equations. I am obviously open to other subjects within the electrical engineering field, it is just too much to enclose here.

My motivation to help out is that I truly enjoy my field, what I learned in school, and since at this time I can understand what is going on (at least can try to figure it out), I feel I can shed some light and share what I know.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

As an electrical engineer, one of the main courses-I would say it's essential-is differential equation. Most of the dynamics that happen in an electrical system are modeled by means of differential equations. I have a solid background in the subject since I also have a math minor where besides the regulatory diff eq course, I took applied mathematics, which heavily relies on the use of differential equations.

Electrical Engineering

I hold both a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering. I went to school at Utah State University. My main focus areas were control systems and electrical power. I am currently employed full time as an electrical engineer for a wireless system design company.

MATLAB

I used MATLAB in different projects during my school years. I have used it for control systems courses, communication systems, power electronics, etc. I am proficient in coding up scripts and using simulink. I can recall at least two courses were MATLAB was heavily used, or used the whole semester (Electric vehicles class and control systems). I even have a licence on my computer since I still find it handy.
