Howdy! My name is Lauren and I'm looking to help you get into your dream university/program/etc. As a Psychology and Sociology double major at the University of Portland (2014-2018), I wrote more essays than I ate pizza. I wrote essays about racial disparities in real estate, the hymen, and four-hour long French movies. I graduated cum laude with a 3.8 GPA, received a 6.0 on the GRE Analytical Writing section (99th percentile), and was accepted into both the Fulbright program as an English Teaching Assistant in Malaysia and Tufts' competitive Fletcher's School of International Relations. I just finished teaching abroad in Malaysia with some of the most heartwarming and hilarious high school students and I'm so grateful for the experience of traveling.

The real reason I'm trying to tutor is that I think anyone who wants to study higher education, study abroad, or get their dream internship shouldn't be sidelined by a poorly executed essay. I have been lucky to have teachers and professors that push me to make my writing as good as it can possibly be, and my writing has taken me to some truly incredible places. Most people have as coherent of thoughts as I do, but struggle in getting those thoughts onto the page in an equally coherent way. I would love to help you in that capacity.

I've taught English in high school for a year as a second language in Malaysia; I have extensive experience both reading and writing in an analytical and narrative way. I scored something like 1890 on the SAT's (out of 2400), with my strong points being Writing & Reading. On a more recent GRE, I scored 6.0 (99th percentile) on Analytical Writing and 157 on Verbal Reasoning (76th Percentile). I've taught in several mentor roles throughout young adulthood, including all through university, and have the humor and patience to make this a pleasant experience for both of us.

I'd love to hear from you! I'm currently available any time of the day and love the Covington Library as well as local coffee shops. Lets get you to where you wan

Knowledgeable & creative tutor.

Very welcoming & encouraging. Lauren was able to isolate what areas i needed to revise & seamlessly alternate between providing factual information, context for the how & why, while regularly anticipating questions & trading ideas. Inspite of her youth her psychological insight & teaching skills are great.
