About Nik

I am a 23-year-old University student who is majoring in Russian and minoring in Chemistry. I love doing anything active and new. My family and friends are very important to me. I love learning and love helping others learn as well. I served an LDS mission in Russia and returned home in the spring of 2015. One of my favorite places to volunteer at is The Children Center in Salt Lake City because I love helping children and teaching them all I can.

I would love to tutor because I am passionate about it. I would never suggest a tutor or a teacher to help you with something if that person was not themselves passionate about what they are helping you with. I love Russian. I am a very patient and optimistic person. I believe that life is what you make it.

I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints in Moscow, Russia. I excelled in mastering Russian during my short two years there. Toward the end of my time there, I was chosen by the President of the mission to design a new mission language program to recreate the way Russian was studied by all missionaries after the manner that I had learned it on my own.

In learning a second language, I came to an understanding of Russian grammar and reading principles and have thus come to a much clearer and better understanding of English principles.

I took piano lessons from Dr. Ning Lu at the University of Utah when I was a child. I grew to love the piano, and have several pieces mastered. If I put time and effort in, I can learn and master any piece.

Please contact me! I want to help you! Shoot me an e-mail and we will set something up! I don't charge much because I don't want money to be a problem.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Russian

I lived for two years in Russia teaching native Russians in their own language about my church.
I am specializing in Russian at the University of Utah and have kept up the language in other various ways. I specialized in Russian grammar during my time in Russia. People often mistake my quality accent for a native Russian accent.
