About Ann

I'm Ann N., a former Honor Society member graduating with honors in forensics and chemistry. A mature female with a sincere passion for math and science as well as English. I have been tutoring and teaching for 15 years, with a fervent desire to see my students succeed. Most of my my students ranges are from seventh grade through college age as well as non-traditional students Math tutoring was mostly algebra 1 and 2 as well as geometry. Also, I tutored many students over the last 10 years to prepare them for taking their SAT/ACT as well as test prep the TEAS and ASVAB. Having lived and worked in other countries teaching ESL with a TEFL certificate I understand how difficult it is to learn a new language and try to converse.

Reading and writing fiction are great passions of mine as they provide new adventures and one can be anything hey want in their story..

I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy the interaction with my students in a fun and easygoing manner. Showing students how to set up their math and chemistry problems in a step-by-step process enables the student to solve it. Math and chemistry can seem quite difficult, but I make it fun to learn. I use a dry erase board to work out enough problems so the student can do their own with ease.

My promise to any student is that I will do my utmost to help you understandyour academic problems.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Chemistry

I taught chemistry labs at two colleges as well as at a high school for two AP Chem, two Gen Chem, two forensic science classes, one astronomy. The classes included for the three months duration while the teacher was out ill. My major was chemistry with forensic science.

Series 7

I was a stockbroker for two major firms for five years. I had my Series 7 and 24 license. The 24 allowed me to work at home and I had 800 lines in my home. I sold all types of investment vehicles as well as selling treasury bonds and municipal bonds.

TEAS

Prior tutoring for TEAS candidates for nursing programs consisted of 2 years of walking students through the basic math properties including algebra and geometry. Assisting students with reading comprehension and encouraging students to take the paper test versus the computer test due to keystrokes and time was valuable for all of my students.

The science entailed basic chemistry formulas to work out elementary problems and learn differential analysis in a step by step problem so that each student could understand where the weakness lay.

The TEAS reading portion took the most time helping students understand what to grasp from the paragraph and read in a time constraint.

I have tutored many students who were either applying for dental hygienist or the nursing program. I am well qualified as a chemist, tutor and exam prep tutor to tutor any candidate for the TEAS exam.
