Bio

I am a former Ford motor company mechanical engineer and have recently made the transition to being a stay-at-home dad. I have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, a minor in math, and a Master's degree in Engineering Management. I earned high grades in all of my classes (3.85 GPA for BS, 4.0 for minor, and 3.9 for Master's) but more importantly, I have a lot of experience with tutoring. I have worked as a Teacher's Assistant for multiple difficult engineering courses, spending hundreds of hours in help labs working one on one with students, this position also involved lecturing classes of over 100 students. I have also worked as a private tutor in the subjects of calculus, engineering statics, Geometry, Algebra 2, Physics, and College Algebra. I have also been an ecclesiastical teacher at my church and have taught a class of 25-30 church members for many years. Needless to say I love to teach and have a lot of experience doing so in a wide array of subjects. I recently completed my master's degree and am well-acquainted with the struggles of learning a new subject. I love school and I have always loved helping other students. Thank you for your consideration!

Calculus,

Calculus

Youngest person in my class to take Calculus when I was in high school and achieved the highest grade (A+ in course, 5 on AP exam). I tutored a student when I was 16 - that student received a 4 on the AP exam. I retook calculus at Brigham Young University after a break from school, received A's on all exams and an A as a final grade. Have tutored Calculus more since then, and helped another student receive a 5 on their AP exam. Have a minor in math and have taken Calculus courses through Differential Equations (Calculus 4), with a perfect 4.0 GPA. I love math, and Calculus is my favorite!
Physics,

Physics

I have taken principles of physics 1, 2, and 3 at BYU with an average GPA of 3.8. I was a teaching assistant for an engineering physics course for 2 semesters and was personally recommended by the professor of the course to privately tutor a struggling student. After personally tutoring this student for over half the semester, the student's grade improved by over 40%, with tests, homework, and quiz grades all drastically improving.

Awesome

Benjamin has been awesome and able to clearly explain concepts for Algebra 2 and Geometry to my nephew. He's given him step by step instructions so concepts are easily understood and able to be completed methodically. I see progress in my nephew that is encouraging to him and me because of working with Benjamin.
