Arizona State University (Spanish)
Spanish is my passion in life and I want to help others discover how amazing it is to learn a foreign language! I have traveled extensively through Central and South America and have lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, Miajadas, Spain and Granada, Nicaragua. In turn, I am able to teach not only the language but also about the cultures of many countries in the Spanish-speaking world.
I am not a native speaker of Spanish so I am familiar with the struggles of studying a foreign language. Unlocking the secrets of a language is a gift that can be extremely beneficial in life. It can open a lot of doors and be the catalyst to a lot of fantastic opportunities. Many students realize this fact and I strive to help them expand on their goals. I like to incorporate many of my relevant travel stories to inspire the travel bug in students because I believe Spanish language acquisition is helped immensely through immersion in a Spanish-speaking country. Also, becoming a global citizen and seeing the world is important in life. I think more than anything, my enthusiasm for Spanish and the Spanish-speaking world will inspire the student and help them advance in the wonderful, beautiful language of Spanish! Brianne was a godsend for my son. She does a great job at teaching in a very positive way and he has new found confidence in his ability to speak and learn Spanish again.
It was definitely an experience on its own! I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions with Brianne.
After each session, I would make new connections between what I had just learned and past lessons. There was always something new to work on and she kept the language fresh and exciting. She pushed and made me realize the little tricks the language.
I loved it! I hope to come back for more of her lessons soon!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
