With a PhD in biochemistry/genetics/physiology, I have dedicated over a decade to tutoring and teaching in various scientific disciplines. In my undergraduate studies, I served as a tutor for subjects including chemistry, organic chemistry biochemistry, biology, microbiology, and advanced nutrition. As a student instructor for biochemistry and microbiology, I developed a systematic approach to teaching, focusing on individual student needs and fostering an active teaching style.
During my master's degree, I taught as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate course in health fitness. Here, I had the opportunity to instruct students on ACSM testing and conduct practical examinations. While pursuing my PhD, I co-instructed a course designed for incoming PhD students in cellular biology, where I emphasized critical thinking and application of knowledge.
Currently, I focus on tutoring high school students in AP Biology, but my passion for education extends far beyond this, and I am qualified to tutor any of the above listed courses. I focus mainly on high school and undergraduate level teaching, but would be willing to discuss others. My goal as a tutor is to provide personalized support that encourages growth and understanding in a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere.
