My journey in education began long before college—I was raised by a teacher, she gave me an appreciation for the power of learning, the joy of teaching, and the importance of an adaptable classroom. That early influence has stayed with me throughout my life and shaped my approach as both a student and an educator.
I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Stanford University. During this time I worked as a debate coach at a local high school, working with students to help them think critically, speak persuasively, and express themselves with confidence. These skills took some of them to state and national competitions. Outside of formal classrooms, I continued to follow my love for teaching. I have led creative writing classes at local libraries, where students of all ages explored storytelling and self-expression. I’ve also volunteered as a math tutor, helping students grasp challenging concepts and develop lasting confidence.
Since leaving school, I’ve worked as a social worker, supporting children in staying enrolled in school and accessing the resources they need to thrive. This has shown me that every student is different and has to find their own learning path.
My tutoring philosophy is rooted in trust and adaptability. I work to create a space where learning feels safe, personal, and empowering. There’s no fear in making mistakes here—just opportunities to grow. I tailor each session to your unique style and needs, helping you build both skill and confidence. Whether we’re solving equations, crafting essays, or diving into past events, we’ll work together in a way that’s both focused and enjoyable.
I’m excited to be part of your learning journey and can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.
