As a Ph.D in mechanical engineering I worked at an energy research laboratory where I constantly used my skills as an engineer, scientist, mathematician and programmer. I also managed a group of 25 engineers/scientist, mostly with Ph.D's and I am listed in "Who's Who in Technology Today", listed in "American Men and Women in Science", listed in "International Who's Who in Engineering", attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a full academic scholarship and attended the University of Connecticut on a fellowship. During my career, I did ground breaking development work in finite element analysis, systems analysis and magnetohydrodyanmics, which resulted in 5 patents. I also started my own business in consulting on computer programming and applied my engineering analysis skills to financial entities. I am now retired, but during retirement I worked as Math Adjunct Professor, at Dixie State University for two years, before decided to be a tutor several years ago. I am extremely well versed in the art of test taking, usually excelling in the tests that I have taken, including getting a perfect math score on my Graduate Record Exam. I developed a unique method of helping students score better on multiple choice math tests, including the ACT, by enhancing their guessing skills for problems that they cannot solve. I am an excellent problem solver and as a teacher/tutor try to teach students more than one way to solve a problem. I've discovered that when a student knows several ways to solve a problem their understanding of the underlying concepts is vastly improved.

Greg provides a great way to teach my daughter the art of taking the math portion of the ACT. I appreciate the tricks and skills he's teaching her.
Thank you for posting your comment, I appreciate your patronage. I always try to do my best with all of my students.
Math 1050 was very difficult for me. Greg helped out a lot. His teaching style is easy going and patient.
Greg is a meticulous and careful Mathematics tutor. My 17 year old daughter has always had difficulty with basic Math concepts and this has troubled her throughout her school career. Greg has been working patiently through the curriculum with her and is patiently able to help her to understand the work. He teaches her different ways of doing things so that she can choose the way that works for her and I think she likes that.
Greg B. is an amazing tutor. He puts in a lot of effort to really tailor make each session to just what the student needs. He has so much real world experience that we found very inspiring. He is patient and dedicated. Can't say enough about him!
I have tutored numerous students in the St. George area in pre-algebra, algebra 1 and algebra 2, besides having taught algebra at DSC.
I played football for 7 years (3 in high school and 4 in college, and was on the starting team for 6 of those years (except freshman year in college). I started on both offense and defense and only came out of the game for punting and kick-off plays (except I was the back-up kick-off kicker). When playing in high school, my team won NYC championship and I was highlighted in the newspaper. I received honorable mention as an all-star college player for the New England region. Lastly, I am an excellent analyst of games, as well as a good prognosticator..
I started programming in FORTRAN in the 1960s. I worked as a FORTRAN programmer while going to graduate school in engineering. I programmed in FORTRAN for many years as a research engineer. I also programmed in assembler, COBOL, Pl/1, C, C++, and SQL.
I have a PhD in mechanical engineering. I taught undergraduate mechanical engineering courses at the University of Connecticut as a graduate student. I worked as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years. I am a certified tutor in many other subjects and have been successfully tutoring for several years.
