Hello, I'm Sam and I would love to be your new tutor! I specialize in teaching linguistics and languages as well as English grammar, reading and writing. Language teaching and study is not only my profession but also my passion. I love meeting people from around the world and helping them expand their horizons through the study of language. In addition to my educational and work experience as a linguist and language teacher, I am an avid language learner and have first-hand understanding of the challenges and joys of studying language!

In addition to holding a Master's degree in Linguistics, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Chinese and a double minor in Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to speakers of other languages). I also have a TESOL teaching Certificate and I am a level 2 Certified Tutor with the College Reading and Learning Association's ITTCP program.

Aside from tutoring, I also have 5+ years experience as an ESL Instructor teaching English to students from all around the world. I have taught everyone from beginners to those hoping to pass the TOEFL exam and enter English speaking universities. I also have 3+ years experience teaching undergraduate linguistics classes and Chinese classes.
