Hi, I'm Trevor! I graduated from BYU-Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2016 and followed that up with a master's degree in accounting from Southern Utah University in 2018. Additionally, I earned a bachelor's degree in statistics from Utah Valley University in 2020. During my undergraduate years, I saw the power of good tutoring up close. I was one of those students who spent a lot of time working with tutors early on in my degree because they were able to give the one-on-one attention that professors often couldn't give. My tutors not only helped me with how to work out various homework problems, but since they had once been where I was as a student, they could shed light on how what I was learning fit into the overall accounting curriculum, helping me to see beyond the horizon, so to speak, so I could link concepts together from class to class as I took my journey through accounting. I can't understate the importance of my time with those tutors early on in my schooling.

Their influence on me was so substantial that I eventually became an accounting tutor myself. While finishing my undergrad at BYU-Hawaii, I spent a few nights a week helping accounting students make the same connections I had made in earlier semesters. I enjoyed working personally with each of my students (and sometimes in small groups) to not only help them understand the concepts from their classes, but to instill them with confidence that they could succeed in what can often be a confusing and frustrating subject. I remember my tutoring days fondly because truly the success of my students was my success as well.
