Utah Valley University (Psychology, Art- Ed.)
I have always enjoyed learning and value the importance of a great education. I too am in school as a double major in Psychology and Art Education. For the past three years I have worked as an Instructor-Aide for Noah Webster Academy located in Orem, Utah. While working as a teacher’s aide, I also instructed small groups for Reading and Math and am currently teaching Spelling. The home room teacher I aided for would have me tutor a few of her Students in different subjects, mainly: Writing, Grammar and Math.
I receive the most joy from teaching when my Students finally understand a concept that they have struggled with for so long. I am a very enthusiastic Paraeducator, with a vast knowledge of the value of hard work. I know that great success comes from trying and learning from mistakes. I encourage my Students to make mistakes, because it is from those mistakes that we learn. I also reassure my Students to not give up, nor get frustrated with themselves.
Since I work at an Elementary School, when I teach I have a lesson plan, but I also try to make it unconventional and fun as well. I love coming up with games and activities that help to retain key concepts. Each lesson that I plan is geared towards the individual. If one of my Scholar’s does not understand something, I will take the time to reiterate what they are not grasping.

I have taught Elementary Math for the past three years, and during that time I have use games and other activities to reinforce key concepts.
For three years, I have taught Reading. During my classes, my students have learned new vocabulary, we have acted out the stories we have read, created projects that show the main ideas. My younger students give me brief summaries about the stories, with pictures, while my older students will write me an essay based on a prompt.
As I have previously mentioned, I work in the K-6 system, but I also worked as a nanny, where I would tutor the children that I had charge over. I understand how the Elementary School works, and what is needed to be a successful student.
I look forward to hearing from you. I can't wait to help you become a more success student! I have always enjoyed learning and value the importance of a great education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught these subjects as a paraeducator for three years in a school, but have tutored for about 2 years prior.
