About Kayli

I have a deep love of teaching and learning. I have always been an avid reader and lover of knowledge, and as a result, I have found many opportunities to continually learn and help others learn. As a graduate of Brigham Young University with Bachelor's degree in History Teaching (and a Minor in English Teaching), I understand the value of hard work, and have written dozens of papers in both subjects. During my time as a student, I was able not only to study the subjects that I tutor, but work as a teaching assistant for multiple professors, which gave me the opportunity to tutor other college students. As a recent graduate, I currently work with U.S. History and English students in a middle school setting as a full-time substitute teacher.

I specialize in tutoring students in English, whether that is helping them write, revise, and edit papers, learn grammatical concepts, or understand literature. I also tutor students in History, and although I specialize in U.S. History, I cover all historical topics. Because of my extensive experience in both of these subjects, I have had many opportunities to edit and proofread papers. I have a good understanding of both MLA and Chicago Style formatting, and I can edit proofread papers in any subject that uses one of these formats.

I graduated with a minor in English Teaching, and have been hired as a middle school English teacher starting in the Fall. I also spent this last semester teaching seventh grade English, and preparing my students for the SAGE test. As a history major and English minor, I wrote dozens of papers during my undergraduate career. As a teaching assistant, I also worked with students on a regular basis to help them improve their writing skills and understand grammatical and writing concepts.

I have a Bachelor's degree in history teaching. I have been a Teaching Assistant at BYU for multiple History classes, and as such, I have worked one-on-one with countless students to help them improve their papers, study for tests, and understand historical concepts. I have also graded assignments, papers, and tests. I also teach U.S. History at a local middle school.

I love working one-on-one with students, and have experience doing so both in-person and online. My base rate is $35 an hour for either in-person and online sessions.

I am generally available from 9 am to 8 pm, and I am happy to travel to meet with students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
