About Lindsey

Hi! I'm Lindsey. I am a graduate from the University of Washington in Seattle. I majored in Anthropology, emphasizing in Archaeological Sciences. I love to learn, and I love to help others learn. There is such a joy in being able to figure something out that is hard, and to be able to know that you worked to find the answer. It is neat to be a part of the process of helping others (and myself) do that! I taught a class to incoming Freshman at the University, and have tutored a lot of people in English and other subjects.

I love math, and a lot of people find it difficult, but it's so cool (to me) to be able to know that at the end of every equation there is an answer. It's a neat journey to get there, and figure it out. I've taken quite a few math classes, and when I was younger I wasn't especially fond it the subject, because I thought it was boring, but when I started to learn more about it, the cooler the subject became!

My major at the University of Washington was Anthropology emphasizing in archaeological sciences. I did my own research while completing my major and have tutored people in Anthropology and Archaeology before. Anthropology and Archaeology are something I am very passionate about in learning more and helping others to understand, as well.

During my mission, I taught several people English and reading through reading the Bible and explaining the Bible, and other sources. Through the program, we went through they found great success in learning English and expanding on what they already knew.

I would love to help you in whatever subject you're struggling with, or just need some extra time with, contact me, if you're interested to schedule a time we could meet!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anthropology

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of Washington. I understand and can explain all four subsections of Anthropology - cultural, biological, archaeology, and linguistics. I have tutored others in each of these areas, and have helped them understand how they can love and appreciate anthropology, just like I do, because of the holistic view it uses to truly understand people.

Archaeology

I am currently attending the University in order to obtain my Master's degree in Archaeology, and have completed my Bachelor's degree emphasizing in Archaeology. I am also currently working as a professional archaeologist through a private contracting company. I have helped peers understand topics in archaeology better, and have done projects and presentations of studies done that contribute to our broader knowledge of the past.

Bible Studies

I was a missionary for 18 months. I taught from the Bible everyday. I explained the meaning of passages to people, and gave them a deeper knowledge of the background so they could understand better. I was able to help people through my knowledge of both the historical and religious background, like I had been taught, through both my secular and nonsecular studies.
