“**Worth Every Penny!**”

I have been teaching basic math through Intermediate Algebra for 30+ years. I have become acquainted with the new school curriculum and am comfortable teaching Secondary 1, 2, and 3. I have taught Math in Junior High, High School, College and Sylvan Learning Center. I love to help students understand why a problem requires certain steps, yet allow

If you're looking for a highly knowledgeable and very patient tutor with a great attitude, Barbara is it. I would have never made it through my algebra classes without her help. Not only did she find ways to help me remember difficult math concepts, she continually boosted my confidence which I really needed as someone who has struggled with math her whole life. I highly recommend Barbara as a tutor for elementary students, adult students and everyone in between.

Barbara is a fantastic tutor. My daughter has thourouly enjoyed meeting with her and learning. Barbara is always great about time and is considerate of changes in our schedule . Thank you Barbara!

Thank you so much for your help! Barbara is very easy to work with and has tutored 2 of my kids. Both of my kids have been successful in math after working with her and said she has a great personality!

Barbara is fantastic! She is patient with you and is willing to help you learn the material. She is willing to answer any questions that you have on the material. She wants to see her students succeed and she will go the extra mile to help in anyway that she can!

Barbara was able to work through some math with a somewhat resistant child. She engaged my daughter and helped her feel like she understood what she was doing by the end of the lesson. Great tutoring.

Barbara taught/helped me understand factoring, and grouping. which is what I struggle and/or lack previously, teaching me shortcuts and making sure that I understand the material presented.

Very encouraging, and easy to talk to. Awesome at teaching! You can tell right away that she has experience teaching math, and knows her stuff

My daughter got an A in math this last year thanks to Barbara!! She is great to work with, fun and smart.

I'm basically starting from "scratch" as I've been out of school for many years, Barbara's teaching style is a great fit for me. I would recommend her to anyone that struggles with math.

Had a great first session with Barbara. She was very kind, understanding and showed a genuine desire to help teach our daughter. She was willing to stay as long as we needed her help. Looking forward to the next session.

I have been so pleased with my son's improvement - not only in his math skills, but in his attitude toward math. His personal perception of math has changed significantly. I am so grateful for Barbara.

Barbara has been a great help for our niece who has always struggled with math. Since tutoring began in December, her grade has improved from an F to B+. Barbara is very professional, doesn't waste time, but has a friendly, positive relationship with our student, who now has confidence in her ability to learn math. She has the ability to relate to teenagers and is an excellent tutor. I give her the highest recommendation.

Barbara has been a wonderful help to our daughter. She has not only been very accommodating to our schedule, but also so willing to help. Furthermore, she knows her math!

Barbara is wonderful! My children have only worked with her for a few weeks but feel more confident in math. She's always organized and challenges them with their work. Excited to continue working with Barbara!

Barbara is punctual, fabulous with teenagers and most of all, she knows her math! She's positive and loves what she does, and it shows. She's willing to chat after a tutor session so that we know how we can support her with our children, and this has helped us a lot as we can direct our kids better with their homework and be aware of their weaknesses.

She teaches two classes for us, one for Math 7 (with two students) and one for Algebra 1 (with three students). The Math 7 class had two youth with different math abilities, so she split it into a half hour session per child and that has been perfect for them! So appreciate her flexibility.

I highly recommend Barbara as a math tutor and consider us lucky to fit into her busy schedule!!

Barbara has been working with my daughter all semester and has helped her raise her grade from a D to a B+. Thanks Barbara.

Barbara B has not only been an amazing math tutor but a confidence builder for our 13 year old daughter. When I found Barbara on WyzAnt our sweet girl had no self esteem when it came to academics. In fact she thought she was dumb. She was also failing math. After a few short months she was getting a B in math and thought she was a math genius! That's also what we call Barbara! Barbara knew how to simplify things, showed her amazing math tricks and was patient!! It has been over a year now and she loves math. She gets all A's in Math and now her confidence is so strong she's doing better in all her other classes. If you or your child need help in math I highly recommend Barbara! We just love her.

Thank-you for your kind words. I love tutoring math and am pleased that I can work myself out of a job because your daughter has become another math genius and now likes math.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1 takes a student from the basics of add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers, integers, and fractions and includes variables. All of the basic operations are included in solving of equations. This is a fun subject which I would love to help you learn and appreciate.

Algebra 2 is a course designed to get you ready to take College Algebra. It brings all of the previous algebra together and then expands upon that knowledge. Most of the mistakes that occur in this class come from a poor foundation in basic skills such as fractions and factoring. If you have depended upon the calculator to do the math for you, you may struggle with rationals and radicals that include variables. Then at the end of the course, it becomes very helpful to learn matrices with and without a calculator. If you are planning on taking your college algebra at UVU, be aware that you will not be allowed to use a calculator. Plus the Accuplacer (admission test at UVU) does not allow calculators either. Let me help you fill in the gaps.

Prealgebra can be a struggle for many students if they still do not have their basic facts memorized. The next roadblock is with fractions, then decimals, and then percents. Since math needs a good foundation to build upon, I will find out where the student is struggling and identify the foundation concepts and facts needed to be learned. While we move ahead we will fill in the holes.
