For the past 22 years I have been a participant in assisting discovery. My variety of roles in the education system have provided me the opportunity to work students, teachers and parents in many different aspects. As a teacher, a teacher mentor, and an assistant principal my role has been to encourage learners to discover and strengthen their abilities.

The world is filled with a multitude of possibility. In order for success to happen, certain skills need to be learned. My desire to teach those skills. It is so exciting to watch a person recognize and discover what they can do! Once a person has discovered their strengths, it is important to embrace those strengths. Once they have embraced those strengths and have the right skills, life's possibilities are endless. When success begins to happen, a learner is able to soar with confidence on their own.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do. There are books in every room in my house. At any one time, I am reading at least four books in a variety of genre's. Reading provides, for me ,the ability to understand people, life, and the world. It provides an understanding of words, how words are used and where their meaning comes from. When you can understand words (vocabulary), people, life, the world, you are a better decision maker, problem solver and have empathy and compassion.

Most of the 22 years I spent in education were with elementary students and teachers. 8 of those years I was a mentor to 100's of teachers that were hired in the district. This required me to know and understand the art of teaching, theory, the curriculum, classroom management and brain research. During my time in the classroom, I received numerous awards for my teaching. I consider myself an information junkie! I love learning and teaching!

Learning is fun! Let me show you how.

Very calm and understanding

Cheryl is helping my daughter with math skills. She varied the activities to keep my daughter's interest and worked well with her. She does not talk at the student, rather she is actively part of the lesson.
