Hi, my name is Mark O. I am a Mechanical Engineer that graduated from the University of North Florida. I am absolutely passionate about mathematics, although it has not been this way as one might expect. When I was in middle school I disliked mathematics and even my mathematics teachers, as I failed and struggled in all my mathematics classes. Hi, my name is Mark O. I am a Mechanical Engineer that graduated from the University of North Florida. I am absolutely passionate about mathematics, although it has not been this way as one might expect. When I was in middle school I disliked mathematics and even my mathematics teachers, as I failed and struggled in all my mathematics classes. My rapid turn-around occurred when my parents sought help from a tutor, of whom I owe a lot of what I have become today. Mr Bill did not only help me succeed in mathematics, but he instilled my passion for this subject. I desire to instill that same intense desire to learn and succeed in mathematics into another student who struggles with mathematics. I know how difficult and frustrating mathematics can be, but I can also attest to how much fun you can have when you realize the intrinsic nature of mathematics. Once the concepts start falling into place, you will begin to understand the inter-connectivity between all forms of mathematics and other school subjects.

As a soon to become Mechanical Engineer, I am certain that I can teach mathematics to high school and college students respectively. Even as a current college student, I am not too far out of the scope on what goes on in high school and most definitely college. I understand what is circulating through a student's mind and can give first-hand advice on any questions or problems that occur inside or outside of school. Overall, my goal is to be as relate-able to the student as possible while still retaining a rigor in the task at hand.

I have over a year experience in teaching mathematics: Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Trigonometry. I have a good record of success from my past students within this short time of tutoring. Aside from teaching, I am an advanced level pianist and bass guitarist. I enjoy music a lot, but if I were to pick between music and maths, I certainly will go for maths.

As stated in my profile, I am a junior engineering student at University of North Florida. I have taken all Math courses including differential equations. Differential equations was one of my best Math course other than calculus 1,2 and 3. I did extremely well and enjoyed the course. Starting from first order differential equations to second order, Laplace transform, Eigen vectors, and so on. I am confident that I am fully equipped to teach this course, as I even taught my colleagues while I took this course about 2 semester's ago.

Patient and encouraging piano tutor

Mark has been teaching my 7 year old daughter to play piano by ear. He has a nice demeanor, very patient and seems knows what he's doing. My daughter is enjoying the lessons and practices on her own. At some point we will switch over to learning to read music but playing by year seems like the best way to start.
