Weber State University
I am 22 years old and I love teaching! It's those moments when you see that the student "gets it" that I work for. While it doesn't always happen like that, the process of learning and teaching is and can always be made fun. I do my best to make sure each person I teach has fun while getting everything they can out of it and applying it to their lives and personal situations. I learn as much or more from the people I teach than what I actually am teaching and that is how I look at every situation. I learn, you learn--I teach, you teach--we both have fun doing it together.
I served a two-year service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Panama and was immersed in the culture and language for two years, and because of that and my own hard work, I am now fluent in the Spanish language. I love Spanish and am always improving my own Spanish, and the way I learn it personally, and I have a lot to offer anyone who wants to do the same.
I graduated from Weber High School in 2008 and recently returned from my mission in August 2011. I have completed my associates degree from Weber State University and am now in my second year of college. I am a business (human resource management) major, with a minor in commercial Spanish.
I am willing to travel farther then the 40 miles from my home to tutor, if need be. I am also willing to negotiate the best times of day and prices that will best suit both our needs. I love working with people and will really make a difference in the lives of any family or person that I come in contact with. I am 22 years old and I love teaching! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I scored 100% on this certification, and it was easy. I have spent 2 full years in a foreign country, mostly with native Latinos, learning Spanish and speaking to the people. I can help anyone not only get good grades, but actually learn to understand and speak Spanish, which will not be the result of most Spanish classes.
I have a "flair" for writing, and while I have only taken few classes in writing, I have scored high results in the ones I have taken. Writing is essentially easy for me, and I can teach others easier ways to write and can help them in other writing assignments.
