About Charlotte

Bio

I am a former high school physics teacher and am currently pursuing my PhD in Physics. Having been both a high school teacher (conceptual physics, honors physics, AP Physics C: Mechanics) and Teaching Assistant for upper division physics classes at ASU, I have experience with many students at all levels of physics/math background. I love seeing the connections between math and physics and helping others understand the fundamental concepts of these subjects.

I love seeing the connections between math and physics and helping others understand the fundamental concepts of these subjects.

As an instructor and teacher, I believe it is important to first establish what your student already knows. Then, I ask questions to guide students toward a full understanding of the concepts in the lesson. Learning is a two-way street! I help students help themselves by teaching them to ask themselves the right questions and determine the most effective studying methods for their individual learning style. My ultimate goal is to become physics professor where I can help departments improve their training and curriculum to better serve their students. Needless to say, I love teaching and enjoy working with students to develop interdisciplinary skills to become the most successful learner they can be!

Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus is the basis physics is built on, so I still use it on a regular basis. I have over five years' experience tutoring mathematics, both as a private tutor and as a university Teaching Assistant. In the past, I have worked with students in middle school through college, so I have experience with a wide range of students and course material.

Knowledgeable and explains thoroughly

Charlotte and I went over my physics lesson homework as well as a lab. She was very knowledgeable about physics and the concepts I needed to understand. She also helped me visualize certain aspects of the problems. I will be continuing to see her for all physics needs!

Cleared up misconceptions

Charlotte did a great job of helping my son with HS Algebra 3-4. He said "She's really smart and explains things better than my teachers." I liked how Charlotte was able to meet last minute at a convent location!
