I graduated as the Valedictorian of the College of Science at Weber State University with a degree in chemistry. I carried a 3.99 GPA throughout college and high school, so I know how to study. I worked part time throughout college tutoring students at the jr. high and college level. I took tutoring courses during my time at Weber and earned CRLA Master Tutor Certification.
Currently I am working on my PhD in Biochemistry at Utah State University.
I have a strong background in math and science, especially chemistry. I did very well on the ACT and, more recently, on the GRE.
I'm a patient, easy-going guy and love to see others succeed. I have a passion for learning and love sharing that with others.
As a tutor, my goal isn't to do your homework for you, but to teach YOU how to do it. Working on study and test taking skills is as important as going through specifics. Although we were having technical difficulties due to the internet connection, that may have been influence by the bad weather, I felt this session was productive. I gained some more insight in how to convert units and also further define differences in matter. Abram was very helpful. Thank you Abram!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
