I am a math tutor with more than 8+ years of tutoring experience in math. I have tutored students from grades 5 through 12 including college algebra. I love witnessing students gaining confidence in themselves and their math abilities when we go over the basics to establish a solid base. I am a substitute teacher. I mainly substitute at my kids' local elementary school. I work 3-5 days a week. I can help you learn to crochet. I can also help you to interpret and/or read your crochet patterns. I have been crocheting since I was young. My favorite crocheting is to put borders around blankets or burp cloths for babies. I can also crochet afghans. I can help you to determine the correct hook to use. I can help with any of the following stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, double treble crochet, long stitch, post stitch, cluster, puff stitch, popcorn stitch, reverse single crochet, joining with single crochet, joining with double crochet, back or front loop only, free loops, working in front of, around or behind a stitch, working in space before stitch, whipstitch and fringe. I would be happy to work with your project in yarn or thread. I have several patterns for afgahns or borders for baby blankets and burp cloths. This is a fun hobby and can be very enjoyable when you get the stitches, the pattern, and your grip on the yarn well in hand. (No pun intended). :-)

Awesome Tutor!

My grandson had fallen behind in reading to the point that he needed to be pulled out of his regular classes to receive reading help. I knew we needed to do more than we were doing to help him get caught up with his class. He was NOT excited about going to a tutor two days a week! But Jennifer was great with him! She made the tutoring sessions educational - yet fun. By the time we had been going to Jennifer for six months, my grandson had moved up to the point that he was reading with the faster readers in his class. He is so much better at sounding out words. He has so much more confidence in his reading! We will forever be grateful to Jennifer for what she did to give my grandson a much stronger foundation in reading! I would highly recommend Jennifer!

Best Tutor Ever!

If you are looking for a tutor for your child, Jennifer S. is really a great tutor. She has been tutoring my grandchild for 2 years and her grade has improved significantly. Mrs. S. is very patient, she listens to her students so she can better understand them and where they are having problems. She goes beyond what is required by a tutor and contacted my grandchilds teacher so they were both on the same page in regards to her problems and progress. She is very reliable and easy to get ahold of. My granddaughter has never complained about going to tutoring and enjoys her sessions. I have enjoyed working with Mrs S. and have especially enjoyed seeing my granddaughter achieve her goals in math.

Helped with Last Minute ASVAB Improvement

My stepson wasn't able to pass the ASVAB to join the Army, due to poor "homeschooling" on his mother's part (never attended middle or high school and had to get a GED). He came to live with us and when the recruiter told him he needed to score a 30 to enter into the Army we were a little worried. He only scored a 27 on the in-office pretest they had, to see if you could even take the real thing. I worriedly got on the internet and started looking for algebra tutors. I found Jennifer lived in the same town as me and she was reasonably priced too. She heard my son's situation and immediately invited him into session. She tutored him every other day for roughly 12 days and literally two weeks after his 27 score he scored a 43, 13 points above the Army minimum,a 16 point improvement. We were so excited! Then the following day he took the real ASVAB and scored 48, 18 points above Army minimum. He is now enlisted in Active Duty Army and will be shipping out October 9th 2012. Thank you Jennifer for the wonderful and speedy help you offered my son. Because of this tutoring he is on to a new chapter in his life.
