Hola. My name is Ryan and I have been teaching the Spanish language for 14 years at the secondary level and college level. I have lived abroad in Spain and travel there often with students. The Spanish language and culture is something that I am passionate about. Also, I have recently completed my Masters Degree in Administration and hope to further instruct at the college level.
As for my tutoring methods, I teach my students through a method known as Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Stories. I have had a tremendous amount of success with students that have devoted themselves to my classes for 3 to 4 years; many of those students have moved on to higher levels of Spanish and have even traveled and lived/studied abroad. They all say that it was my way of instructing that gave them the "spring board" to gain their fluency. I am also a trained Spanish grammarian, meaning I know the in's and out's of the language's many tenses and moods.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
