Hello! I'm Alexandra, an Ecuadorian-American with 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I began teaching at 19 as the youngest University Teaching Assistant at SDSU at that time. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Math Education and began tutoring for a government funded program for children in the inner city of Los Angeles, while I was getting my Master's degree at the prestigious University of Southern California in Educational Psychology. I did this for 3 years and was also teaching at a Montessori after obtaining my Master's until I moved back to my Native country of Ecuador in early 2010. Upon arriving to Ecuador I taught Math in English at a prestigious k-12, and then quickly became a University Math, Psychology, and English professor at the best University in the country, the University San Francisco of Quito. One of those years I was also a thesis director for students specializing in Educational Psychology.
I founded my own in-home tutoring company and continued to teach Math, English, and Spanish for the 14.5 years I was there. During this time, I also completed a PhD program in Educational Business Management. I have recently moved back to the U.S. and am currently residing in Utah, where I hope to continue my career as an educator. I specialize in making math fun and graspable, teaching ESL and Spanish, and get true joy out of promoting life-long learning. Please message me if you would like me to send you my resume and the links to the academic articles I have written. Looking forward to meeting you!
