Bio

Great to meet you! My name is Jonathan L., I'm 25, work in marketing for a civil engineering firm, and live in College Station. Fun fact about me: I was a math tutor for the first time in high school, and now, eight years later, I am married to the love of my life, who happened to be that first person I ever tutored. I'm a competitive racquetball player, can tell you any fact about the NBA, and have a passion for teaching and numbers.

In high school, I scored a 760 on the math portion of the SAT's, I had the highest AP calculus BC score in my class of 400, and I continued to explore math electives throughout college, despite testing out of more than the amount of math required for my advertising degree.

My most recent student was a family friend, who I tutored through Algebra 2. When we started, she was barely passing, and could not explain any of the concepts she had learned. She ended up making A's on all of her tests from the time I began teaching her. My goal with her was to help her understand how it all fit together, and I will strive to achieve the same with all of my students.

Choose me as your tutor because of my passion for teaching, my patience, my track record of success, and my willingness to teach each student in the way most appropriate for them.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

When I aced algebra 1, I was a 7th grader in a class full of high school freshmen. 11 years later, I still have the same passion for numbers, and love sharing it with others through tutoring. My goal while tutoring math is to get the student to understand the concepts, because when you actually understand math, it becomes easy, and honestly, fun! (Yes, believe it or not, math can actually be fun!) I can provide additional references not on this platform, and would love the chance to work with you/your child.

When I aced pre-algebra, I was a 6th grader in a class full of 8th graders. 12 years later, I still have the same passion for numbers, and love sharing it with others through tutoring. Middle School Math

Jon has been helping my son Adam with 7th grade math throughout the year. With Jon's help, Adam has managed to get all As & Bs throughout the school year. He is an exceptional teacher with deep understanding of common core math. As a bonus, Jon is very polite & prompt. Our family will surely miss him when he moves this summer. Best of luck Jon & family.

Working on an A

Jon was able to help my son complete assignments during his time tutoring. Our plan is to continue with weekly sessions to achieve my son's goal of passing algebra with an A.
