I am a certified secondary math teacher (grades 6 to 12) with ten years' public school teaching experience and have also taught math at the community college level part-time; I'm in in my sixth year now. After ten years teaching, I decided to return to my primary career of engineering and now work full-time as a production engineer and manager at a local industry. I have been tutoring math for several years working with junior high kids through college students - including statistics, finance, college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and all levels of high school and developmental math. I also have three children in college at this time. I earn very high student evaluations from the college classes that I teach and am a member of the Texas Community College Teachers Association. My experience working with adults in a manufacturing environment has been helpful with relating to and helping the older student.
My educational background includes a bachelors degree in Engineering and a masters degree in business administration - both from major universities. I earned my teaching certificate as well as educational leadership (for administration) certificate from Midwestern State University.
I am passionate about helping students achieve and succeed at their highest level and have had many success stories. I continue to be impressed by how an hour or two a week of one-on-one attention can help the student learn and learn well.
Thank you for your consideration. I usually work with students at the local library, but can be flexible on location. Hello,

Joe is a wonderful tutor, especially in trigonometry. He looks at the information before the session so he makes sure he can teach to his greatest ability. He has a number of different ways to explain a topic if it does not click the first time.
Joe is nothing short of the word FANTASTIC! I took a condensed graduate level research and statistics course over the Christmas break online. On the 4th day of class I realized I needed HELP! I prayed God would lead me to the right tutor and He did! I "conducted" a Google search and WyzAnt appeared first in the list. After a quick search I found Joe's name, emailed him, and in less than 24 hours he had contacted me via email and text. We were able to meet the next day and for the remainder of the course Joe consistently helped me. Joe's professionalism and integrity are top notch and his patience was unwavering. He went out of his way to help me understand the material my class covered and I am very grateful. I would recommend Joe to any undergraduate or graduate level student needing assistance! Don't think twice, just contact Joe the Tutor Guy!
