About Jose

Bio

My name is Jose and I am a licensed professional engineer. I graduated from UTRGV with my bachelors in civil engineering. While I was studying to be an engineer I was also a tutor for about 4 years at a local college.
I was just a student myself struggling to pass my classes as I helped other fellow students pass theirs. I really enjoyed helping fellow students and I hope to continue helping those students who need help and want to expand their knowledge in these subjects.

As an engineer, I tend to want to know how everything functions at its very core. Therefore, giving me a good understanding at what I’m looking at and helping me out in any future endeavors I have with said subject. As a tutor I try my hardest to do the same when tutoring a student. Not only do I want to be able to help with the current problem at hand but also how to approach any future problems students may have further in the semester. Sharing my knowledge in how to obtain knowledge is my main goal.

I always want to be able to take away from a tutoring session as much as the student does. Not everyone learns the same way and I will do my best to adapt my tutoring methods to your suggested learning methods. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and to see if I’m the tutor you’ll like to have.

Subjects

Computer

AutoCAD,

AutoCAD

Through the 4+ years working in the construction industry AutoCAD has been a mainstay for the industry. A lot of companies have started to transition to 3D software but AutoCAD continues to be a main part the design process for many engineering companies. I took a class for AutoCAD in school and now use the program daily in my profession. From creating formwork and concrete layouts, to creating innovative and efficient blocks.
Revit

Revit

Being a design engineer requires me to use Revit every day to design 3D concrete and formwork layouts as well as developing user-friendly and efficient families for the company. I have been given the opportunity to train several employees who had no revit experience prior to being hired and teach them from the ground up on how to use revit and all the features it offers. I am able to teach someone to model structures in 3D, create generic model families, link other 3D and 2D models into Revit, putting your project into paper space for printing, and many other features that are possible in Revit.

Algebra 1

As an engineer, math is the most important and crucial subject to know. Algebra is the basis to all of the math an engineer will have to learn. When I was a tutor, college algebra was the one subject most students struggled with making it the subject I tutored most. Therefore, making it the subject I was best at as well.
