I am experienced and highly effective in tutoring PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP English Literature and Composition students and I have excellent results improving scores for those taking standardized tests. So much of that testing is based on reading comprehension and conventions of English usage, my strengths! I also assist students in the Essay portions of those test as well as in writing their college essay applications. During the last 20 years I have directed communications, writing and editing for a series of non-profit organizations. I edit my husband's medical website. I am a graduate of Cal Berkeley (US History major), and an avid reader of all things historical.

Over the years I have also tutored students successfully in World History and US History. My knowledge of politics and current affairs is impressive. I enjoy helping students to express themselves through improving writing skills and understanding and utilizing basic liberal arts curriculae.

I am patient, thorough, dedicated and willing to take the time to make sure students totally comprehend the subject matter. Being able to apply English, vocabulary, and writing skills to everyday life can be a very liberating experience for students!
