Bio

I am a medical doctor (MD) from France, specialized in pulmonology, since 2009. My formal teaching experience is in medicine. I used to teach to medical students in two ways: 1) to one to teach how to speak to and examine patients; and 2) in collective lessons to teach about pulmonology fundamentals.

I have lived in the US for 3 years after having followed my American husband. I am preparing for the USMLE exams (the equivalence process to be able to practice as an MD in the US.)

As I love learning about these subjects, I would also love to share them with students: in health professions (nurses, etc.) but also middle school, high school and BBA students.

I hope to see you soon.

Biology

As a French medical doctor, I learned a lot about anatomy, physiology and at the very beginning organic, molecular and cellular biochemistry. I ended my first year of college being the 14th of my around 1000 students promotion, and my last year being the 312th of around 4000 students all over the France. While being a practicing doctor in France, my "speciality" was to explain to my patients how their disease would work in their body, for example how genetic can be an issue, or how a cancerous cell can grow. And my patients often felt that their disease was simply explained. I'm not a certified doctor in the US, but I'm ready to continue to teach biology !

Physiology

As a medical doctor (French degree), and a pulmonologist, I learned a lot about physiology. Explaining it to my patients was also one of my passion, as well as the student I tought during my 2 years in a university hospital. Working in ICU for about a year made me also learn about all the other organs physiology (and physiopathology).

Magnificent Med Tutor

I'm a 4th year med student and Kirsten tutored and guided me through pulmonology. What I felt very fortunate about, was her vast professional experience and clinical knowledge, that she generously shared with me and that I found to be very helpful in real life practice. She's an experienced professional in her specialty and proved in her tutoring academic excellence. All the assignments she helped me with, received top grades and high praise from my professors. Her strengths: simplify complex matters very perfectionist, very complete in her clinical approach structured and methodic - trained my systematic thinking and analysis humanist. Adapted her personal agenda for my finals, made it possible to give me an intensive course, despite being on holidays with the family. Jackpot for med students that she’s available for tutoring. Unfortunate for her that, being a French national, she can’t practice in the US (yet). Great experience! 10/10

Great teacher.

She is a very patient and nice teacher, The book is a little complicated to follow but that's not her fault at all, it's just that all the text is in french so that makes it a little harder to follow. Over all I loved my 1st class and will keep taking her lessons until I become fluent.
