I graduated cum laude, Alpha Chi, from Baylor University, in 2012. I studied Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Akkadian, Ugaritic, Aramaic, Anglo-Saxon, and Linguistics.
It is my hope that students learn ancient language not as a mere code system for English but that they rather become proficient in the paradigm provided by the language itself. That is to say that they begin to understand the language on its own terms, which will naturally make it more intuitive and less mechanical.
I do not believe that complex languages are for the select few. I believe that if taught correctly a language can be acquired by anyone. It must be remembered that these ancient languages were mastered even by children. Language need not be difficult. It ought to be rich and enriching; in a word, pleasant. A riddle fails to be an enigma when the simplest of solutions is applied.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took four years of Classical Greek at Baylor University and graduated cum laude. I read Plato, Homer, Diodorus, Thucydides, Theocritus, and Demosthenes. I have read large portions of Smyth's Greek Grammar, and continue to hone my skills since graduating. I successfully tutored a student of Fordham University who was greatly relieved to find Greek so simple after learning from me.
I successfully completed five semesters of Biblical Hebrew at Baylor University. I am well trained in Hebrew grammar and lexicon usage. I understand the patterns of word formation and verb recognition like the Qal and Piel. I am also familiar with related languages like Akkadian, Ugaritic and Aramaic which further refines my ability with Hebrew vocabulary.
