While in college, I was granted scholarships with Victoria College and UHV to tutor Mathematics and Computer Science. I have earned numerous scholarships each semester I went to college and trained during the school year(while attending college and employed as an HS mathematics teacher).
Subjects I have tutored are the following:
HIGH SCHOOL:
Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, and their honors equivalent. Basic coding.
This also entails any dual credit courses.
Grades: 8-12.
COLLEGE:
AA, AS, BA, BS, MA, and MS level mathematics and some computer science courses.

Computer

Computer Science,

Computer Science

I obtained my associate's degree in mathematics and computer science and my bachelor's degree in mathematical science and computer science. I just recently graduated from West Texas A&M with my MS in Applied mathematics, engineering, and computer science. I have learned many different types of computer programming languages, including some older ones such as Java, C++, and Fortran. Most of my formal training has been in JavaScript, MATLAB, and Python, and much of the coursework I have done has taught me much more about the reasons for using such programming languages and why we use them.
MATLAB,

MATLAB

I use MATLAB when I need to work on complex mathematical problems to figure out solutions that are too small or too large to fit into a handheld calculator. MATLAB can provide me with graphs, data analysis, matrices, and much more. I use 2-D or 3-D models to include in any research. I usually tutor students with difficulty learning MATLAB or those who struggle with coding basics.
STATA

STATA

I have used STATA for over two years now. I have used STATA in almost all of my graduate coursework and thesis. I use STATA when I have large databases to compile and for all statistical research, I am working on. STATA is a statistical software, and the students I tend to tutor are those who need help understanding STATA basics, for those who want help understanding the output data.

I have taught Geometry since I first started teaching in 2007. If I did not have a section of geometry, then I often tutored the subject for many students who I have had in prior years.

Test Preparation

STAAR,

STAAR

The Algebra 1 EOC is the STAAR test. It is the state test that a student needs to pass to graduate from high school. Throughout the years, STAAR tests came after the TAKS tests, consisting of about 54 questions, not to include the pilot questions added each year. Over this past summer (22), I went to a training about the new redesign of the STAAR test, how each new interactive test type would work, and how to complete these questions. Now, the multiple-choice part of the STAAR test only consists of about 75% of the entire test, probably less as the years progress towards this new redesign. Teaching success on the EOC is more about getting students to adapt to these new question types and ensuring continued success on the EOC. I have spent/ spending my teaching career ensuring all my students are successful on their STAAR exams and how to make each year better. My scores max out at a 98% passing rate. Meaning I only have 1-2 students fill their STAAR each year.
