About Lisa

My name is Lisa, I correctly have a Bachelors degree of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Art. I am employed by the Independent school district of Texas and have been working with them for over 4 years. I am currently working on getting my certifications to teach a bilingual classroom in elementary or a Spanish high school classroom. I grew up in South America and learned proper Spanish for over 7 years.
I have tutored college students and adults to learn Spanish. I currently work with bilingual students in a classroom setting to help them with vocabulary and reading.
I believe I am highly qualified to tutor Spanish for anyone wanting to learn the language or improve classroom participation. I enjoy working with students and pushing them to reach their goals. I also do assessments to make sure they are performing and understanding the information that has been covered

I currently work as an intervention teacher helping students in bilingual classes that English is a second language. I hold a Bachelors in Art with a Major in Spanish.

I will work at making it fun and help you understand the subject matter.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drawing

I have taken beginning drawing at a Junior College and advanced drawing at a University. I have learned how to draw with pencil, charcoal. I learned proportions of the human and animal body, as well as dimensional objects. I have also learned cartoon and anime figures. I am currently in an advance sculptor class to improve 3D dimension.

Painting

I have taken beginning painting at a Junior College and advanced painting at a University. I have learned how to paint with water, oil, and acrylic. I had to make my own stretchers for most of the paintings that I have done. I understand the color wheel and how colors can complement one and other. I have learned how negative space can be used and how important composition of a piece is.
