About Stacey

Hello!

I have been in education since 2009, from being a classroom teacher to having my own tutoring business.
I have had a lot of experience in helping struggling students. In my years of teaching I have been able to work with students dealing with ADHD and other special needs. I am also qualified to teach and work with ESL students.

As an educator, my role is an extremely important and influential position to hold. It is not a position that should ever be taken lightly. Teaching is a calling that must be handled with care. Educating our children and creating a love for learning deep inside of them is one of the most important jobs. By educating our students we are providing them with opportunities to succeed and do amazing things with their lives. We are educating our future leaders, teachers, administrators, moms, and dads.

As a teacher I take my position as an educator seriously. I believe that a child is more likely to love learning if they are given the appropriate environment in which to learn. They need a positive and encouraging atmosphere. They need to know that their teacher believes in them and is willing to go the extra mile with them. I aim to create an atmosphere where my students can thrive and develop. I love taking struggling students and showing them what they are truly capable of. It is those moments when I see the glimmer in their eye and the excitement on their face that I as an educator embrace wholeheartedly. It is just as important to take that student that is right on target and make sure you continue their learning as well and not hold them back from growth. This is what an educator does…they meet the individual needs of each of their students.

As an educator I find it vitally important to create an environment that emphasizes excellence both in teaching and learning. I aim at producing wholesome individuals intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Teaching should create opportunities in fostering competency and critical thinking. As an educator I always press towards growth and the goal of creating independent learners. Learners that take ownership for the knowledge they have attained and put that knowledge to use. This is the grand purpose of educating…this is why I have chosen to become an educator.

I look forward to assisting you & helping your child reach their max potential!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been through Texas Teachers Alternative certification classes and passed the state test for EC-6th grade. I have taught school for 3 years and tutored for a year. I am also a home school mom.

Phonics

When I taught school, I became very familiar with several amazing phonics programs such as abeka. I have used some of the same programs and strategies with other students and seen great outcomes. I use several different types of phonics games as well to help students grasp concepts.
