University of North Texas (French)
I have a Bachelor's degree in French from the University of North Texas. I also have a certificate in professional French. I am an honorary member of Pi Delta Phi Alpha Iota chapter. I have been to France, where I was immersed in the language and culture. Since then, I have immersed myself more and want to share my experiences with others. I want to give others the joy of the French language and culture.
I teach traditional and current French using several books and apps to choose from. My experience is with a variety of methods to use, one can learn a variety of different ways, and thus is successful. I try to bring real situations into my methods of teaching, so that students can relate to what they are learning. That makes it more fun for them as well as me. I try to think of situations or scenarios that go along with what I am teaching. That way, the student can understand how the language works in the context.
I do not have much experience in tutoring, but I love to teach. I know I can be the best tutor I can be, because with subjects I know a lot about, I teach very effectively. I bring fun and experience to my teachings. That is how my teachers taught at the university, and that is how I like to teach anyway. I believe that when the learning is fun and the student can relate to it, then they learn something. They are then able to carry that knowledge with them to the next level. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
