I enjoy seeing students achieve competency in applying conceptual understanding and logical analysis to problem-solving, so it will be the focus of tutoring sessions. My tutoring specialty is physics but I can also tutor math. I primarily work with students from high school to college.
I have been a science instructor and teacher since 2001 and have a state certification teaching science and math in Texas. I have an advanced degree in physics. A classmate referred Francisco to me. At first I was hesitant because of the distance. However, I needed help and I had yet to make a connection with previous tutors. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. Francisco immediately made me feel comfortable with him, which in turn made it easier to listen. He is very precise on theory and manage to convey Physics to me at a level easiest to understand. I'd recommend him to anyone struggling with math and science. He is a wonderful tutor and I look forward to our future sessions.
Mr. Francisco is an extremely thorough tutor. He explained many confusing physics principles to my daughter concisely and simply. Since starting tutoring sessions with Mr. Francisco, my daughter's grade has risen dramatically and we are very pleased with her results. In short, I recommend Mr. Francisco as a capable tutor for physics.
Did a very good job of explaining the concepts so that I could understand them instead of just reciting the equations. Very helpful.
Francisco is always right on time. My son picks things up very fast from him. I am hoping to see if Francisco can teach my daughter also in the future if needed. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs help in the areas of Physics and Pre-calc.
My daughter was so excited about the things that Francisco taught her. She had a great understanding of her class material after the first session and said everything finally made sense to her. She was able to complete all of her homework during class today, whereas before she spent hours at home in the evening trying to figure it out. She has already had one friend ask for his contact information. She looks forward to more sessions with Francisco to go over new material!
Update 1/16/13 My daughter just finished her 2nd 9 weeks and made an "A" in the class. This would not have been possible without the help of Francisco. Her teacher did not explain the material well at all, but each time she met with Francisco she fully understood everything. Thanks, Francisco! You are the best!!
Francisco is an excellent tutor - one of the best I have encountered so far. He is assisting me with Linear Algebra and there are few people who have the patience and skills to teach these abstract concepts. He makes you feel as if you knew it all along! I highly recommend Francisco- he is a rare find.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took the undergraduate differential equations course and learned partial differential equations from a graduate mathematical methods course. I have also successfully tutored students taking their undergraduate differential equations course.
