Texas A&M-Commerce (accounting)
I am a retired accountant, but I have worked in many fields in my life. High school and college students would be the level I need to help with tutoring. I have a Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, so accounting would be the most likely subject I would tutor. I made the President's List with all A's in all semesters in college, except for two semesters and I made the A-B Dean's List those two semesters. I also made the Honor Roll in High School. I was a member of Honor Societies in both high school and college. Therefore, I may help with subjects such as math, science, English, and any other subject where you may need help. Just let me know what level of high school or college you are attending and the subject and we'll see if I may help.
My manner is casual and will go as slow in sessions as you need to learn the material. I speak only English. My lesson plan usually begins with a personal study of the chapters of the book relating to the study thoroughly and do the homework beforehand, and then you may tell me where and what you are needing, such as help with homework, computer help, a specific knowledge of the material by reading the area in need or an overview and what I or you think is important to know. Maybe I may borrow an extra book from your school, study the subject online or I'll get a book at the local library. That way, I will be able to answer questions and do a heavy-duty tutoring session My plan includes an extra portion of great encouragement that you are on the right level and that you are able to learn anything! You will be eager to learn what you want if I am your tutor. We'll have fun. My schedule will be any day in the afternoon or evening from about 2:00 p.m. to about 7:00 p.m.
I tutored when I was a student at Trinity Valley Community College and I was also the tutor coordinator at Trinity Valley for four years. I tutored math, algebra, science for pre-nursing students, Communications in English, term papers, and other subjects. I enjoyed helping students get good grades. Likewise, I will enjoy when you receive higher grades. Students became my friends and they would come to me to answer any questions about classes or future possible classes. I have had excellent experience at Trinity Valley, which I'd like to share with you. It was a great success! Many times, encouragement and knowing you're with a great tutor who makes sure you are learning at your pace and level are great requirements to make A's. All of the students I have helped have raised their grades to an A or B in their specific study. I look forward to meeting with you. Thank you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
