About Danielle

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in biology, and a minor in Spanish. I have privately tutored elementary and high school students for over 5 years. I am warm, friendly, patient, compassionate, and reliable. I am excellent at one-on-one teaching - I am clear and organized and will help you develop a successful plan to reach your goals.

During college, I worked part-time, traveling to different schools in Austin twice a week, teaching biology, chemistry and physics to elementary and middle-school students using hands-on experiments. At Explore UT, I taught basic genetics concepts to students using 3D candy models. At Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, I volunteered for 4 years, working with children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. Upon graduation, I worked as a dermatological clinical research assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for 4 years, where I co-authored publications for top ranked dermatology journals, including "Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology" and "British Journal of Dermatology", regarding the treatment of cutaneous lupus. In Dallas, I privately tutored two siblings (ages 13 and 15) on a consistent basis for 4 years in various subjects- chemistry, biology, physics, algebra 1 & 2, English, Spanish. They loved me so much that they asked me to tutor them multiple times a week. I became their mentor and friend, and I hope to be a role model for you or your child as well.

My thorough background in math, science, and english gives me the confidence that I can assist you in improving your studies and becoming a better student - I will dissect the material to allow for easy understanding. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Science

I excelled at advanced Algebra II during high school, and I have over 5 years of experience in private tutoring. I served as a math and science team member for my high school and middle school, and qualified for state competitions. I am patient, kind, and knowledgeable of short-cuts in Algebra II. Recently, I privately tutored a high school student diagnosed with ADHD, in Algebra II, on a consistent basis - 2 hours for 5 days a week, until he finished the course with a A. Prior to working with me, he could not finish an assignment on his own, and was failing in the course.

Algebra 1

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in biology and a minor in Spanish. Having taken all GT/honors classes since the age of 6, I possess the educational background to teach young students how to strive for excellent grades.

Now on the way to receive a J.D. to practice healthcare law, upon graduation with my bachelors from UT Austin, I worked as a dermatological clinical research at UT Southwestern Med Center in Dallas for 4 years, and co-authored publications for top ranked dermatology journals, including "Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology" and "British Journal of Dermatology." I have over 10 years of experience working with elementary aged children. I am warm, friendly, patient, compassionate, and reliable. I taught after school science enrichment classes at elementary schools for 5 years in Austin and in Dallas. I privately tutored 2 high school students on a consistent basis for 4 years in Dallas, in algebra I and II, chemistry, physics, biology, English, Spanish, and geometry.

Great tutor!

Danielle was willing to schedule extra time with the lesson in order to cover the necessary test material. Results were seen immediately as my daughter did very well on the test the next day. Danielle is very responsive, encouraging and flexible with her schedule.
