I currently am a junior at the Colorado School of Mines studying Chemical Engineering with minors in Applied Mathematics and Energy. I tutored a class of approximately 30 7th grade students in all subject areas for about 6 months during my senior year and in the summer. My favorite part of teaching is when I see the students grasp the topics and begin to enjoy learning rather than struggling and becoming frustrated with the coursework.

I attended a math and science academy in high school that stressed taking more math and science courses during your four years there. I also am pursuing an Applied Mathematics minor at my university and have taken several upper level courses that allow me to understand why the math works the way it does. I also had a very high math SAT score.
Attending the math and science academy in high school created a great basis for my science qualifications. I currently attend a university that heavily stresses sciences, and am studying chemical engineering. My strong understanding of math allows me to grasp science topics really well.
I am a very personable teacher who is easy to talk to and very passionate about sports, especially basketball. My goal when teaching is to get the students to understand the topics to a point where they aren't frustrated when doing their homework.
