Hello! I am Texas certified in all subjects EC-6th and 4th-8th, Special Education, English as a Second Language and hold my Principal certification. I have my masters in education, am currently an 8th grade Math Teacher in a district north-west of Fort Worth, and have written middle school math and science for multiple districts. I have taught in an elementary and middle school special education program, working with all types of diverse learners, and have worked with students from all backgrounds as a program director for a non-profit organization for seven years.

I am the father of three wonderful children, who we are raising on a 3.5 acre homestead with chickens, goats, horses and organic gardens! I am passionate about guiding students to discover their own learning and make real world connections that go beyond quizzes and tests. The years I spent working with students with learning differences allowed me the opportunity to create illustrations, graphic organizers and hands on activities that have helped unsuccessful students master math and science concepts.

I am a current pre-algebra teacher with multiple years of experience creating strategies and aids to help all students master pre-algebra concepts. I am skilled at making connections between concepts and the real world and creating step by step plans for student mastery.

I have over nine years of experience teaching elementary age students everything from life skills to core academic subjects. I currently homeschool my elementary age children and am developing a curriculum that utilizes farming as a basis for learning state academic standards.

I have played guitar for over twelve years, been the lead for a church band, and have taught lessons to students of various ages. I utilize music as a pathway for teaching life and academic lessons.

I have worked with students in each department of special education in the public school system. My main background is working with students with emotional disturbances, learning differences, autism, and attention variances. I have also served as an extended school year teacher, working with students with severe and profound differences.

I believe that great teachers and tutors must be excellent at forming relationships and highlighting relevance with their students. I work diligently to ensure every student understands the material in their unique way, while making long lasting connections to the learning.
