Hello! My name is Julia. I am originally from Georgia. I have always been strong in math and did peer tutoring in high school. I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's and a teaching certificate for mathematics grades 7-12. I am now in my fourth year of teaching. Hello! My name is Julia. I am originally from Georgia. I have always been strong in math and did peer tutoring in high school. I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's and a teaching certificate for mathematics grades 7-12. I am now in my fourth year of teaching. I really enjoy being able to work one-on-one with students and being a tutor provides that opportunity. I try to explain concepts clearly and in multiple ways. I engage the student during practice problems using questioning and refer back to examples as needed.
I have taught Algebra 1 for five years now. I taught Algebra 2 during two of those years. My strong background in high school algebra means I am also able to help students in lower grades because I know where they are headed. During teaching, I often held before-school, lunch, and after school-tutorials. I really enjoyed Precalculus and Calculus during high school and college. I did well in all those classes and have helped a coworker do lesson plans for AP Calculus.
As long as you give me a general topic and grade level, I can prepare for our lesson or utilize the materials you provide. I am quick to respond and currently have a fairly flexible schedule. Please contact me with any questions or to set up your first lesson.
